Preseason Fitness

We have some exciting news regarding fitness training this summer.

2015

What is Happening?

This season fellow club Member Lizzy Mcphail will be running the sessions. Lizzy has been working as a personal trainer for the last seven years. She is also passionate in the field of sports rehabilitation and is studying Physiotherapy at university. She has already had great success in undertaking the fitness for the Welsh Hockey Masters team during the World Cup and is looking forward to working with Westberries ladies hockey team this summer.

This is a fantastic coup for the club to get somebody of Lizzy's experience and skills in the fitness industry to run the sessions.

 

Who?

Lizzy will be focusing the sessions on fitness, strength, conditioning, power, stamina, motor skills, and agility, all aspects needed in  preparing for the season ahead.

It is designed to be accessible for all but also to push the players with higher fitness levels. The sessions will have a slightly different  approach and will aim to increase player’s knowledge of fitness while involving fun team activities.

When?

Fitness training starts on Monday 3rd August 2015 from 7pm to 8pm and runs every Monday until the start of the season. The last session will be Tuesday 1st September 2015 and not Monday 31st August as that is a bank holiday. 

 

Where?

We are now running the fitness sessions at Coombe Dingle Sand based astro turf. It is £2 per person.
